After hearing that Tweed New Haven Airport was without a training school for the past few years and that there were unhappy individuals looking for a family-friendly and professional flight training facility locally, we have brought our well-received courses among the local aviation community to this location.
We are hoping to provide a fun, friendly atmosphere for everyone looking to earn their wings!

Hunter Ansich
Operations Manager/ Chief CFI (CFI, CFII, MEI)
Hunter's aviation career began with a unique start in rotorcraft, inspired by a high school friend. This initial experience ignited his passion for flying, leading him to transition to fixed-wing aircraft to complete all his ratings, with his sights set on a future in the airlines.
Hunter has earned his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) ratings with over 1,300 hours of flight time. He loves helping students succeed and takes great pride in creating new pilots. Hunter's teaching style is patient and supportive, ensuring that each student gains confidence and competence in their flying skills.
In his free time, Hunter enjoys hunting, fishing, and working on cars. -
Brian Cooksey
Regional Lead Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII)
Brian is a highly experienced Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII) with over 1,500 hours of flight time. Known for his exceptional instructional skills, Brian takes the time to ensure his students fully understand the material and can succeed in their aviation endeavors.
Brian's dedication to his students' success is evident in his patient and thorough teaching approach. He finds great satisfaction in helping aspiring pilots achieve their goals.
In his free time, Brian enjoys fishing and hanging out with friends. -
Maxwell Chubet
Lead Flight Instructor (CFI)
Maxwell is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) with a great passion for helping students achieve their pilot certifications. He began his training at Auburn University, where he developed a strong foundation in aviation.
Maxwell's enthusiasm for teaching and dedication to his students' success is evident in his engaging and supportive instructional style. He finds immense satisfaction in guiding aspiring pilots through their training journey.
In his free time, Maxwell enjoys hanging out with friends and traveling. -
Ben Neubig
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
Ben is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) with over 1,000 hours of flight experience. Having trained at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Ben is well-versed in the Part 141 school structure and brings a strong academic foundation to his instruction.
Ben has a unique ability to connect with his students on a personal level, creating a positive and effective learning environment that fosters both confidence and skill. His approachable teaching style makes him a valuable mentor to aspiring pilots.
In his free time, Ben enjoys playing the guitar and engaging with his community through volunteer work at his local firehouse. -
Lila Pettes
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI)
Lila Pettes discovered her passion for aviation the moment she took her first intro flight at Meriden Aviation Center—and she’s been soaring ever since. As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument Instructor (CFII), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI).
Lila is deeply committed to helping each student succeed by tailoring her instruction to their unique learning style and goals. Her philosophy is simple: no two students are the same, and every pilot deserves personalized, high-quality training.
Outside the cockpit, Lila enjoys staying active with Pilates and skiing, spending quality time with her family, and gardening. -
Gabriel Roman
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, MEI)
Gabriel is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, MEI) who began his aviation journey in Puerto Rico. His passion for flying brought him to New Haven, where he now dedicates himself to instructing the next generation of pilots.
Gabriel’s commitment to aviation education is evident in his enthusiastic and supportive teaching style. He finds great joy in helping aspiring pilots achieve their dreams.
In his free time, Gabriel enjoys traveling and flying with friends.
